Yumkella In Trouble

Members of the Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella Movement (KKY), are presently worried over who should pay cost of a Court Order in the United Kingdom, following the dismissal of a case brought by members of the KKY Movement at the Lambeth County Court in London on the 5th of May against SLPP UK and Ireland.
According to details of the injunction, the Judge ordered the payment of cost to be made by the plaintiff. According to a senior member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, Micheal Jack Muana the group leader and aspirant for 2018 presidential flag-bearer of the party, Dr Kandeh Yumkella has been approached to pay the cost ordered by the court as he was the one who advised the KKY Movement-UK to take the matter to court. However, he noted that the former diplomat, turned politician has refused to pay the cost of the court case claiming that it should be paid by the Alliance and not just him because the case was supported by other flagbearer aspirants of the Alliance. According to Jack Muana, at an Alliance meeting held on Sunday, 8th May in London, several members of the Alliance insisted that the cost of the court case should be paid by Kandeh Yumkella because the idea of court action was initiated by KKY Movement against the party. “If you advised people to go to court you should take responsibility for the failed action,” an angry John Benjamin supporter said.
It is not yet known whether or not the KKY Movement will pay the cost before the inauguration of the new executive in a few weeks’ time.
