A press release recently issued by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) states, among other things, that the Commission has, within a period of eight months, recovered eleven billion, seven hundred and sixty eight million, five hundred and twenty seven thousand four hundred and twenty four Leones (Le 11,768,527,474.00) as part of its robust stance to tackle corruption in the country.

The press release further stated that part of the said sum recovered has been deposited into the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

It could be recalled that the former Sierra Leone Maritime boss, Dr. Sarah Bendu who was indicted by the ACC recently paid over two hundred million Leones to the Commission as part of money owed.
