VP Jalloh Hobnobs With Fullah Community

Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh recently hobnobbed with the Fullah Community at a programme organized by an organization dubbed Duaah Jabbie Cooperation held at Lumpa, Waterloo in the Western Area Rural District.

Addressing a mammoth crowd, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh expressed thanks and appreciation to the Fullah Community for what he described as a mission accomplished as, according to him, the Duaah Jabbie Cooperation campaigned and voted for the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) that saw his political party acceding to power. The Vice President assured that the SLPP led government is bracing up to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to the Lumpa community, noting that the construction of electricity sub-station in Waterloo is already underway.

Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh showered praises on the entire membership of the organization for what he considered as a “warm and sincere” welcome, adding that such massive support and respect accorded him was a novelty.

In response, the Vice President therefore extended invitation to one hundred members of the organization to wine and dine with him at his residence, and to also chart the way forward for the organization.

It could be recalled that Duaah Jabbie Cooperation was formed by business magnate, Alhaji Barba Leigh and the organization currently has a membership of about twenty eight thousand (28,000) nationwide seeking to promote and protect the interest of the Fullah ethnic group in the country.

Speaking to The Exclusive, one staunch member of the organization, Mr. Alpha Bah lavished praises on Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, describing him as a seasoned international diplomat who has learned quickly on his new job. He further described the Vice President as a very credible political leader whose exemplary performance has become the beacon of hope for the SLPP’s future survival.

Mr. Alpha Bah furthered that with his high educational standing coupled with his UN experience, Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, by all leaps and bounds, has the integrity and technocracy to handle state affairs with consummate ease, thereby making him stand out distinctively in the President Julius Maada Bio led SLPP Government as he continues to ride on the crest of a wave that has propelled him as one of the best politicians the SLPP can pride itself in.

Mr. Bah further emphasized that the Vice President’s national appeal could be attributed to his excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adding that his charismatic leadership acumen always attracts people towards him as he often carefully pays attention to how to interact with people.

Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh came to political limelight ahead of the March, 2018 national elections, when the SLPP presidential candidate, Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio was desperately searching for a running-mate. After several names had come up as to who would become his running-mate, including Lawyer Alpha Osman Timbo, the name Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh came in handy much to the surprise of most members and supporters of the SLPP.

Born in Kono District to parents who hailed from Port Loko District in the North-West Region, the Vice President graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree from Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone (USL) and later pursued a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in the Federal Republic of Nigerian. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh later obtained a doctorate degree (PhD) from the Institute of Political Science in the University of Bordeaux in France.

Following his excellent academic track records, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh in March, 2000 started his professional career in the UN as a Programme Officer at the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). Whilst at the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) and the Sahel in Senegal, he served as Sahel Advisor to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General of the United Nations for West Africa and the Sahel.

Until Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio chose him as his running-mate in the March, 2018 presidential election, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh worked as a Senior Advisor at the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), during which he supported the Algerian led mediation process of the Malian Crisis.
