The Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment, Dr. Dennis Sandy has disclosed that His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio plans to relocate State House to a 2800-acre land the government has recently repossessed at Gloucester Village and to also construct important government buildings on the land.

Dr. Denis Sandy disclosed that funds for the construction of a new State House would be provided by the Government of Julius Maada Bio while the other government buildings would be done by the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS).

It could be recalled that the vast reclaimed land was recently shown to President Julius Maada Bio during an official visit to the site and, according to the Lands Minister, the land would be put into effective use by the government.

According to Dr. Sandy, he decided to invite the President to the land for him to see firsthand the good work the Ministry has been doing, adding that he told President Bio that most of the reported grabbers of the said land have no legal documents, not even State Land Ownership document.

The Land Minister further disclosed that all the private land papers that were shown to the Ministry were fake documents, noting that you cannot use private land documents to get a State Lands.

On the ongoing demolition exercise, the lands Minister said most of the affected buildings are shack building, adding that notice has been issued to people occupying residential buildings.

The Minister assured that anyone who provides proper State Land document would be awarded another land.
