SLPP Female MP Talks Tough

The Member of Parliament for Constituency 001, Hon. Navo Kaikai has expressed optimism that her party, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) would surely win the 7th March, 2018 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking to journalists early this week, the firebrand politician pointed out that the people of Sierra Leone are, more than ever before, yearning for change as, according to her, the country is going from bad to worse every day.

Recalling the days of the SLPP and comparing those to what currently obtains under the APC, Hon. Kaikai said prices of basic commodities have, in a short span skyrocketed unimaginably under the latter, citing that the cheapest bag of rice costs Le220,000 (two hundred twenty thousand Leones) compared to Le60,000, ten years ago under the SLPP.

The APC, she went on, has not been able to maintain the over-trumpeted electricity supply in the country with the city suffering from interrupted electricity supply, adding that government is yet to complete must of the roads it started.

Hon. Kaikai however maintained that her party will continue from where the APC will stop after the 7th March, 2018 elections. She further expressed disappointment over the fact that most Sierra Leoneans don’t vote on issues but on regional and tribal lines.

Hon. Navo said because she believes in the SLPP she has continued to stay in it through thick and thin, despite the many challenges and frustrations that go with politics.
