SL Children’s Empowerment On Pageant Show

The Sierra Leone Children’s Empowerment organisation last Friday, 7th June, 2019 organized children and teenage beauty pageant show at Liberty Hall on Walpole Street in Central Freetown in a bid to showcase their talents.

In an exclusive interview with The Exclusive, Co-founder of the organization, Madam Seray Kabba disclosed that Sierra Leone Children’s Empowerment was founded in the United States of America (USA) in 2013.

She furthered that the main objective of the organization is to help children in education, mentorship, resilience, prevent the girl-child from sexual harassment and communication skills, stressing that no child should left behind. Madam Sesay Kabba said their objective is to provide a better future for the children by training them to become self-reliant and maintain self-respect.

She further disclosed that computer studies must be a necessity for every child and that her organisation would create a platform for children to have computer in their different homes, noting that the organization will also particularly help the less privileged children with scholarships to further their studies.

The Co-founder however disclosed that despite the organization’s ambitious plans for Sierra Leonean children, the organization does not receive any financial support from the government or international Non-governmental Organizations (INGOs). Madam Kabba further disclosed that there are up to twenty children in the organisation who are all girls.

At the end of the beauty pageant, all contestants emerged as winners and were presented with iPad tablets and learning materials.
