RSLAF To Get New Military Equipment

The Deputy Minister of Defense, Simeon Sheriff recently disclosed in Russia that the Government of Sierra Leone has plans to sign contracts for the purchase of Russian military equipment and hardware for the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Force (RSLAF).

The Deputy Defence Minister made the disclosure at the opening of the International Military-Technical Forum “ARMY-2018” that took place at the Patriotic Park, Moscow Region, Russia from 21st to 26th August, 2018.

According to Simeon Sheriff, the new equipment and hardware will be primarily for logistics support units, adding that with time the government will also purchase other equipment to boost the capability of RSLAF.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The defense exhibition presented modern high-tech military equipment, new defense products used by the Russians and developed by the Russian defense industry.

The Military-Technical Forum “ARMY-2018” is also an International Defense Exhibition with more than 80 foreign companies from 14 countries the world over, including Armenia, China, Kazakhstan, Germany, France, Belarus, Turkey, among others.

During this year’s event, artificial brain and digital technologies dominated discussions at the “ARMY-2018” Innovation Club. The exhibition also featured well-known public figures, military experts, chief designers and leading scientists.
