Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh during his visit to the Pademba Road Correctional Center after the recent attempted jailbreak, assured Sierra Leoneans that records at the center were safe and that all inmates that were injured and admitted are safe and secure.

Reporting that eleven inmates died during the riot, with forty-two injured, VP Jalloh stated that government is stabilizing the situation, with an investigation committee probing the riot that will make recommendations.

He disclosed that there are plans to relocate the facility which originally was built to house three hundred inmates but now houses close to one thousand, five hundred inmates. Government, VP Jalloh said, will after the investigations are completed take action against those found culpable.

It could be recalled that an attempted jailbreak was recently staged by inmates of the correctional center that later turned into a riot which resulted in the destruction of facilities including the administrative building, records section, workshop and hospital.
