Petito Spreads Wing Over F/Town

The erstwhile Sierra Leone Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Alimamy Petito Koroma last Thursday continued his familiarization tour of the Western Area in his bid for the presidential candidacy of the governing All People’s Congress (APC) party ahead of the 7th March, 2018 polls.

According to report, Alimamy P. Koroma visited market women and youths during his tour of various markets and ‘Ataya’ bases in the Central Business District of Freetown.

It could be recalled that the former Minister of Works, Housing and Infrastructure resigned his position as Ambassador to China a year to the next national elections to enable him aspire for the APC flagbearership as stipulated by the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone. He was also relieved of his positions as member of the APC National Advisory Committee (NAC) and Chairman of Kambia District.

Petito also observed last Friday (Juma) prayers at Fisher Street Mosque where he was heartily welcomed by traders, especially women. One of the market women, Ramatu Sesay, said Petito has emerged as one of the favourite flagbearer aspirants in the race and that his popularity has cut across young and old.

In all of his tours, according to report, the flagbearer aspirants had passionately appealed to all Sierra Leoneans to remain dedicated to the development strides made by President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and to continue praying for the right person to succeed him.
