Palo Conteh Arrested

Former Minister of Defense and Internal Affairs in the Ernest Bai Koroma led All People’s Congress (APC) Government, Rtd. Major Alfred Palo Conteh, who also led the country’s response to the outrbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) between May 2014 and November 2016, was recently arrested for questioning after he was found in possession of a well loaded pistol at State House.

According to the Head of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown, Chief Superintendent John Kenneth Alpha in a release, Alfred Palo Conteh was found in possession of loaded small arms in  a public place (State House), adding that CID acting upon information sent a team of detectives to State House where Lt. Mohamed M. Sowa, Director of the Joint Presidential Guard Force, showed a small hand purse containing a Gluck 17 pistol loaded with ten live rounds ammunition which Alfred Palo Conteh, who said he was at State House for a presentation of the former National Ebola Response Center to Presented Bio, admitted ownership of.

The release furthered that statements were ontained from Alfred Palo Conteh and the security personnel that intercepted him atthe State House security entrance.

Meanwhile, investigations are in progress and the public would be informed, the release concluded.
