Member of Parliament representing the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Hon. Dixon Rogers has, following his meeting with the Inspector General of Police, reportedly advised aggrieved colleague Members of Parliament representing the Coalition For Change (C4C) Party to seek redress in the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice over the recent withdrawal of state security from their party’s Chairman and Leader, former Vice President, Chief Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana.

This advice comes following series of allegations from the C4C MPs who alleged that the meeting with the IG, Richard Moigbe was stage managed by the Hon. Rogers.

According to the C4C MPs, Hon. Rogers who acted as Chairman of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Internal Affairs was not supposed to serve as chairman in that meeting as he is not the designate Chairman of the said Committee which Chairperson was at the time, available.

They also queried that they were not even given the opportunity to asked the IG relevant questions.

However, Hon Rogers has insisted that he had the legal right to act as the Committee’s Chairman, quoting relevant portions of the Parliamentary Standing Order and other laws. Meanwhile, one of the C4C MPs, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamin insists that they would do all in their power to restore their leader the respect that is due him.
