Over The Supply Of 200 Buses… Transport Minister Commended

Many Sierra Leoneans The Exclusive interviewed following the recent signing of an agreement by the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Kabineh Kallon with a leading Chinese Company – Golden Dragon for the supply of two hundred buses to Sierra Leone, have lavished praises on the Minister for such a laudable intervention in a record time.

This good news came at a time when the issue of transportation countrywide has become a thorn in the flesh of many Sierra Leoneans who have decried the former All People’s Congress (APC) led government for doing little or nothing to ease the appalling situation.

“We were tricked by the former Minister of Transport and aviation, Mr. Leonard Balogun Koroma who shipped hundred sub-standard busses that did not stand the test of time.” said one school teacher, Ibrahim Sankoh, adding, “we must be thankful to the new Minister who has now signed a genuine agreement for the supply of two hundred busses which are far better than the faked ones signed by the former.”

In China, Minister Kallon told the Sierra Leonean community that his trip to that country was to demonstrate government’s commitment and promise to ease transportation problem in the country.
The agreement, the Minister said, is a transparent one as it involved other stakeholders including the Commission for Privatization, Road Transport Corporation and the Procurement.

“God bless Minister Kallon for solving our transportation wahala,” said Abacha Street traders.
