NRA To Provide More Jobs

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) is reported to be currently planning to expand its operations and activities starting from the next financial year.

In order to successfully implement those new programmes, the Authority, reports state, is now trying to recruit hundreds of new tax workers and administrators to join their team.

Making the disclosure recently at budget hearing programme the Acting Deputy Commissioner General at the NRA, James Mohamed Foday revealed that from the start of next year the Authority will be preparing a new electronics tax system for business people in Freetown and other part of the country.

He noted further that the Authority will also improve on the implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) and the ASYCUDA++ System, adding that in order to achieve those goals they will need the right human resource. Currently, he said, the Authority in under-staffed and cannot meet the huge tax collection challenges.
