Napoleon Trophy Gathers Momentum

 

The Umaru Napoleon Football competition which is currently ongoing at the Low Cost Community Field is gathering momentum, with hundreds of people within the Kissy community thronging the field to see fireworks.

The competition started on Saturday October 20 with the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party after whom the trophy is named in attendance to kick start it. Before doing the off Mr. Umaru Napoleone Koroma thanked the organisers Iraq Base, for the recognition they gave to him as a son of the soil, and in whose honour they named the competition. He encouraged the younger ones to be conscientious in anything the do and demonstrate commitment to their different vocations. He said President Bio’s vision covers all Sierra Leoneans and in particular the youths of the country.

Other speakers lavished praises on the SLPP scribe and NCP Chairman for keeping touch with his base. In attendance also was the Deputy Minister of Political Affairs Mr. Amara Kallon, the SLPP East District Chairman Mr. John Gbondo Margai, the Financial Controller of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority Mr. Alie Koyo Kamara, the Deputy Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Mr. Bockarie Kalokoh among others.

The first match between Zone 7 and Zone 6 ended in a one all draw. As at the time of going to press, the match between Zone 4 and Zone 5 had just started. The competition ends next month.
