MPs Disappointed -No More Le63M For CDF

The Speaker of the House of Parliament, Hon. Abass Chernor Bundu in a press release issued on Tuesday 24th July, 2018 described rumours doing the rounds that Members of Parliament have received Le63 million as Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) as “utterly untrue and baseless.”

According to the press release, effective next Financial Year, the issue of CDFs shall cease to exist, adding that “this year’s CDFs, when paid, shall be exclusively dedicated to the construction/renting of constituency offices in all 132 Constituencies nationwide.”

It could be recalled that the issue of CDFs was reintroduced during the former All People’s Congress (APC) Government after it was scrapped by the late former President Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabbah led Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Government.
