Mile 91 Raid/Murder Matter… 13 Accused Granted Bail

Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 has granted bail to Samuel Kalokoh, Frank Sembu, Alie Kamara and ten other accused for being in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana (cannabis sativa) that subsequently led to the alleged murder of a 29-year old youth at Mathibu village in Yoni Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern Province.

These thirteen accused appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 to answer to fifteen count charge which had to do with conspiracy to commit a felony with cultivation of a plant from which a narcotic substance can be extracted contrary to law, unlawful possession of cannabis sativa contrary to Section 48. (1)  of the Pharmacy and Drugs Act 2001 and another thirteen count charges.

The lead Defense Counsel for the thirteen accused, Lawyer Yasmine Jusu Sheriff asked for bail to be granted to all thirteen because they there were school going children among and schools have re-opened. She asked Magistrate Santigie Bangura to transfer this matter to the where the offence was committed as, according to her, her client would not afford be travelling to Freetown whenever the matter comes up.

The Police Prosecutor in the matter is Superintendent Eric Deen.

The matter comes up on the 5th of October, 2018.
