Illegal Foreigners In Trouble


The newly appointed Chief Immigration Officer, Mr. Andrew Jaiah Kaikai has disclosed that very soon the Immigration Department would start going after foreigners who do not have residential or work permits to legalise their stay in the country. The Department, he said, has discovered that there a good number of foreigners who are illegally residing in the country. Some, he said, sneak into the country as visitors but later outlive their welcome in the country.

The Chief Immigration Officer furthered Sierra Leone has the highest number porous entering points along the Guinea-Liberia borders, adding that only seven entering points are being manned by security personnel who, he said, are not enough and promised to employ personnel during his tenure.
