For The Construction Of School In Port Loko… Council Pumps Le195M

The Port Loko District Council has allocated the sum of one hundred and ninety five million Leones (Le 195,000,000.00) for the reconstruction of Ahmadiyya Muslim Junior Secondary School at Magbele Town in the Lower Marampa Chiefdom. Addressing beneficiaries, the Chairman of Port Loko District Council (PLDC), Mr. Ibrahim Santigie Bangura said that as Chairman, he would ensure that education becomes affordable and accessible to all school going pupils, adding that it is expected that after the reconstruction of the school, the children will have conducive learning atmosphere to enhance quality education.

The Councillor of Ward 261, Constituency 070, Sullay Potho Kamara expressed thanks and appreciation to the Council for what he described as a laudable development, particularly when, he said some thirteen communities within the chiefdom benefit from the school.

In another development, the PLDC has also hired the services of a contractor for the reconstruction of Magbegbera Maternal Community Health Post (MCHP) in Lower Maforki Chiefdom. The Chairman of PLDC informed the people on why the Magbegbera MCHP was selected as beneficiary of council projects.

According to one of the stakeholders, Mr Ibrahim Santigie Bangura, the current facility is not conducive and is in a dilapidated state. He noted that the reconstruction of the health facility and staff quarters will last for three months and that the project costs two hundred and fifty million Leones.

Currently, the PLDC has commissioned seven different projects in five Chiefdoms in a bid to enhance effective service delivery at community level. According to the Chief Administrator, Mr. Rahman Tom Farmer, the projects worth five hundred million Leones (Le 500,000,000.00).
