Magistrate Elizabeth Sheila Bangura Jalloh of
Pademba Road Court No7 has committed the matter of Sylvester Foday Bangura, a
SSS 1 pupil of Saint Edwards Secondary School to the High Court for proper
trial.
The offender in the above action was arraigned
before her for Preliminary Investigation after he was alleged to have killed
one Mohamed Sesay by stabbing him in his neck at Congo Town field.
Delivering her ruling shortly after the matter
was mentioned by the court clerk, Magistrate Sheila Bangura Jalloh said
the offender, Sylvester Foday Bangura was charged with a count of murder
contrary to law.
It was alleged by the Prosecution that on
Friday 4th of October, 2019, at Congo Town field in Freetown, the
offender murdered Mohamed Sesay.
She said to prove their case, the Prosecution
called in three factual and two formal witnesses who testified in Court and
corroborated.
Magistrate Elizabeth Jalloh further stated in
her ruling that the Prosecution team led by Inspector Morrison Dunor proved it
case beyond reasonable doubt and looking into the file before her, there is
enough evidence to warrant the offender to stand proper trial at the High
Court.
Preparing his committal warrant, the offender
was put to his selection, among which he responded that he will be testifying
at the High Court on his defence and would call in witnesses.
However he was committed to stand proper trial
at the High Court without bail.
