For Coronavirus Prevention… Learning Institutions Close Today

The Joint COVID-19 Education Response Team has announced that all schools and tertiary institutions should close today Tuesday 31st March, 2020 as one of the robust preventive measures against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

According to a press statement by the Joint COVIC-19 Education Response Team, all educational institutions should complete their exams today and government through Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) will be implementing planned activities towards the Free Quality Education programme.

It instructed that every pre-primary, primary and secondary school pupils should submit a valid contact number of their respective parents and guardians and heads of educational institutions to provide for their respective Ministries a valid contact number of their learning institutions.

The release further stated that decision on the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and National Primary School Examination (NPSE) would be announced separately and advised registered candidates to continue the process in preparations of their forthcoming exams.

The team assured that government would continue with preparations for the school feeding programme and parents, guardians and staff to rely on verified and confirmed source coming from the team.
