Final Results Out Today

The Chief Electoral Commissioner and National Returning Officer of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Mr. Mohamed N’fa Alie Conteh will today announce the remaining 25% of votes cast in the 7th March presidential election after addressing some sticky issues surrounding the electoral process.

According to reliable sources, NEC resorted to recounting in many parts of the electoral districts following complaints from some political parties regarding election irregularities, thereby delaying announcement of the remaining 25% votes cast in the presidential election.

Yesterday evening witnessed an admixture of anxious supporters of both the two leading political parties, the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) and the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in celebration mood claiming victory on the first ballot.

As at press time, The Exclusive was reliably informed that some senior officials of NEC were on their way from the provinces to witness today’s announcement of the remaining 25% results of the presidential election.
