The World Football governing body has reportedly postponed indefinitely the forthcoming Extraordinary Congress of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) until certain changes in the SLFA statute are revised by FIFA and the SLFA Code of Ethics is jointly reviewed by FIFA and SLFA.

The said Congress was to take place on the 27th and 28th of this month. However, a press release issued out recently by FIFA, noted that they have not yet received the draft version of two documents and that the postponement is due to the facts that the process to verify the two documents is time consuming. FIFA has urged the SLFA to speedily provide the association relevant documents so that they will commence the process and agree on a new date for the congress. As at press time, The SLFA is yet to respond to the correspondence.
