Energy Minister Angry

The Minister of Energy, Alhaji Kanja Sesay has expressed serious anger over the frequent destruction to government’s electricity transformers that are being installed in key areas in communities across the country.

The Minister expressed this anger following the recent reported suspension of two senior Managers at the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA), while commenting on the status of the operation – Restore Electricity Initiative, the Energy Minister noted that as a government, they frown at bad people who are in the habit of vandalizing the EDSA transformers either for their selfish or political interest, adding that one of the biggest priorities of this government has been the sustainable electricity supply. He continued that his Ministry has launched a internal investigation to know the exact cost incurred by the State and how the negative actions of criminals is affecting the socio-economic well being  of residents in the capital city.

Alhaji Kanja Sesay also sent a strong warning to all EDSA workers not involve or partake in such negative act, adding that there are many reasons to believe that some EDSA officers are involved in this criminal syndicate.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is also investigating series of such illegal activities taking place at EDSA under the operation restore electricity project.
