CCACO Ends Counseling Workshop

 Conforti Community Aid Children Organization (CCACO), a non-profit making organisation, has on the 11th of May ended a five- day training workshop for conforti Staff, Ministry of Social Welfare and the family support Unit of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) on counseling services at Hotel 5-10 Kissy in Freetown.

According to the director of conforti community Aid Children Organization, Francis Mason, funding for this workshop was from Network for Africa U.K and Comic Relief U.K, under the project, providing life changing support to people with mental health issues in Sierra Leone. He added that the programme was implemented by conforti community Aid Children organization in collaboration with the Ministries of Health and Sanitation and Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs. In his closing remarks at the workshop, Francis Mason admonished participants to use the knowledge and skills gained at the workshop to provide professional counseling services for people with mental health issues in Sierra Leone. he thanked the facilitators, Shelly Evans and Barbara Baver, all from the USA for providing such skills to counselors in Sierra Leone.  He described the workshop as a capacity building one, adding that the project was implemented in Western urban and three chiefdoms in Port Loko District.

At the end of the workshop, participants expressed thanks and appreciation to the implementers of the programme and donor partners.
