Bollore On US$120M Expansion Project

In his keynote address whilst commissioning the US$120 million expansion project to the Queen Elizabeth II Quay recently, President Julius Maada Bio stated that the expansion of the Quay will create more jobs for youths in the country, adding that it would also increase the volume of tonnage and ensure that bigger vessels dock at the quay.

He further expressed satisfaction over the fact that Bollore has been a good partner whilst commending it for its corporate social responsibility within the community it operates and for employing a good number of youths in that community.

The expansion, the President furthered should ensure cost reduction in doing business at the Ports and also asked the company to work with government to streamline customer’s activities at the Ports.

The expansion of the Ports, President Bio went on, would also attract foreign investors, as according to him, his government has already created a friendly environment for investors.

He concluded by urging the company to provide internship for students and jobs for graduates and to also capacitate workers through international training opportunities.
