Bio Speaks

His Excellency Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio on Friday, 20th July addressed members and supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) at conference hall of the party’s Headquarters on Wallace Johnson Street, Freetown.

The President admonished his audience to exercise patience as, according to him, Sierra Leone is now in safe hands. He reminded them that they were all one family in the battle to redeem the country from going down the drain and that they should continue in that direction.

“I had promised to be visiting you because I know not everyone will be able to access me at State House. That is why I am here today to assure you that you are part of the governance of this country,” said President Bio.

He reminded them that they already know him for the truth to which, he said, he will not be able to satisfy everyone but assured them that he will work for the betterment of the country and for the benefit of all.

‘Pa-O-Pa,’ come September, he said, the free education will commence. This, he said, is the foundation for the human resource capacity building of the country.

He also encouraged them not to be distracted by some ill-motivated people over the price hike in petroleum products and the high unemployment rate in the country which he said the government is trying to address.

His government, he said, inherited a broken economy that would not allow the payment of subsidy for which, he said, his administration  decided to share the subsidy price among all so that government will be able to generate fund to embark on other vital projects.

“God’s time,” he said, “is the best.” He went on: “You should not be intimidated by other political opponents for the current lack of employment.”
