Bio Charges Ministers

His Excellency President Rtd Brig. Maada Bio has reportedly informed Ministers and their deputies that it is their responsibilities to ensure that deliver on the promises outlined in his ‘New Direction’ manifesto during the campaigning period.

“My government made a promise to the people to improve on their lives and I expect you as agents of change to deliver on that,” said President Bio noting that as government they have made a social contract with the people of Sierra Leone which, he said, they cannot afford to fail.

He continued that he cannot do it alone which was why he called on them as fellow compatriots to join him in delivering on all the promises made to the people of this country. President Bio disclosed that it was a difficult decision he made to choose them among many Sierra Leoneans but that he was confident that they would deliver as expected. The task ahead, he said, was tough but the he is sure that they were tougher than those challenges; the reason why, he said, he appointed them and that they must rise up to the challenge.

“We have suffered a lot as a country but with determination, zeal and political will, we must collectively make this nation a better place,” he assured.

In his response on behalf of himself and others, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Alie Kabba expressed his profound joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation under President Bio whom he described as a man who has always sacrificed his life and everything for the betterment of Sierra Leone.

He pledged their collective commitment to serve the nation with loyalty and dedication. His colleagues and himself, he said, will be steadfast and committed to serve this nation.

He concluded that they as Ministers would  look up to the president to provide them the requisite structures that they would  build on for national transformation and to continue to make the people of Sierra Leone realize that the ‘New Direction’ is indeed the right direction for the country.
