The Former Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Brima Kargbo, the Chief Nursing  Officer, Matron Hossainatu Koroma and the Director of Planning, Dr. S.A.S Kargbo have all been reportedly been officially asked by the Director of Human Resources to proceed on leave.

According to the letter sent to the three senior officers, the move is part of the MoHS current restructuring drive across the entire Ministry.

The restructuring plan was reportedly ordered recently by the newly appointed Minister, Dr. Alpha Tejan Wurie in order to improve on the human resources capacity and to also expand the workforce of the Ministry nationwide.

In the absence of the Chief Medical Officer, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer in charge of Public Health, Dr. Amara Jambai has been appointed to serve as the Acting Chief Medical Officer, whilst the replacement of the two other officials is expected to be announced soon.
