Big Setback For Kenema Road Project

The company responsible for the construction of Dama Road in Kenema city has put the commencement of the road work on hold due to some delay in relocating water pipes install by Chico Company under the supervision of Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO).

According to a news release, the company has also put a temporal halt to the drainage construction along Hanga Road due to delay in removing the solar street poles by a private company that is yet to commence work despite payment.

The Management of First Trican Company however said it has advised both human and material resources to speedily execute the road construction within the stipulated time as enshrined in the contract documents.

Meanwhile, many residents of Kenema city have raised grave concern over the slow pace at which First Tricon Company is constructing the roads.

According to a resident, Ibrahim Musa, many concerned residents were not happy with the selection of First Tricon Company for the award of the contract on the grounds that this is not the first time the company has delayed construction work in Kenema district.

They therefore urged the company to start work before the next rainy season starts.
