At The  COI… Witness Turns Person Of Interest

By Thomas S. Kembay

The main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) earlier position for the inclusion of Permanent Secretaries (PS) and Project Managers for investigation at the Commissions of Inquiry (COIs) has taken one step in that direction as Justice Biobele Georgewill of Constitutional Instrument 64, Court Room No. 1 asked the Project Manager for Youth In Agriculture at the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Musa Turay who appeared before the Commission as a witness to get himself a defense lawyer after implicating himself in his testimony and also asked the State Prosecutor, Justice Oladipo Robin Mason to him as a person of interest.

Mr. Turay was brought before the COI to testify as witness against the political heads of the Youth Ministry under former President Koroma at the ongoing investigations into the Youth in Agriculture project.

Justice Biobele Georgewill is the investigations unfold Musa Turay as project manager was accused by other witnesses including the Paramount Chief of Koya Chiefdom to have acted corruptly.

One of the witnesses even claimed that the Project Manager asked him to put ten million Leones (Le 10m) under his mattress which he was to collect from him later.

This development has reminded the public of APC’s earlier call to the Commissions for the inclusion of Permanent Secretaries and Project Managers as persons of interest.
