At Commission Of Inquiry… Ernest To Appear Today

Erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma has been formally invited by the Secretariat of the three Commissions of Inquiry sitting at the former Sierra Leone Special Court compound on Jomo Kenyatta Road in west end Freetown to, if he so chooses, attend sitting today at the Justice Biobele Georgewill’s Commission.

The invitation to former President Ernest Bai Koroma informed him that witness (es) will today testify with regards the Petroleum Directorate from the period November, 2007 to April, 2018.

What the witnesses will say, the Notice of Hearing sent to former President Koroma states, are likely to touch and concern his conduct as a person of interest on issues pertaining to his activities and deliberations relative to the Petroleum Directorate.

Commenting on the erstwhile President’s invitation by the Justice Georgewill’s Commission, the Commission’s spokesman, Mohamed Massaquoi said the trend has been for persons invited by the Commissions not to put in personal appearance but to send lawyers to appear on their behalf. Reports are that former President Koroma, who had said he was not averse to cooperating with the Commissions in their investigations into his stewardship of the state from September, 2007 to April, 2018, would be represented by a battery of reputable legal luminaries.
