APC Sec. Gen. Speaks

By Thomas S. Kembay

The National Secretary General of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh has disclosed that certain senior members of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party believes that vengeance is the only way out. He made this disclosure past Monday, 9th April, 2018 at the party’s headquarters on Old Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown.

Amb. Yansaneh recalled that in 2007 when the APC won the presidential election the then President, Ernest Bai Koroma sent out a strongly worded warning to all senior members of the APC to desist from any act of violence or face the full force of the law.

“This is what we expect the SLPP leadership to have done,” said Ambassador Yansaneh. APC, he assured, will work in the interest of the nation at the legislative arm of government but however emphasised that they will kick against any bill that is anti developmental and not in the interest of the masses.

APC he said will use 77(K1) of the 1991 Constitution to remove from parliament any of their member who refuses to work in the interest of the country and go by the dictates of the party.

APC, he said, lost the March 31 presidential run-off election due to the interference of external actors and that the party accepted the result for peace to reign. He also bemoaned the National Electoral Commission (NEC) over the series of alleged elections malpractices and irregularities which, he said, has never happened in the history of the country’s electoral process.

He concluded that APC will surely come back to power at the right time.
