APC Report Card Hits Deadlock

The nine-man committee findings on the causes of the All People’s Congress (APC) party’s defeat in the March, 2018 national elections and the way forward is reported to have  faced a setback due to alleged political intimidation and violence on  committee members in the heart land of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

According to the National Secretary General of the APC, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, the expected findings and recommendations of the nine-man committee will be a guiding document that will help position the party ahead of the 2023 national elections.

The Committee, he said, had called for an extension of time to enable it reach out all members and supporters across the country to get firsthand information.

Unlike the South-East, he said, the committee’s assignment was relatively successful in the Western Area and the North. Meanwhile, the APC scribe said the party has called on the police to provide security for the Committee in the South-East so that it can complete its assignment as according to him, the committee was attacked in Kono by some vigilantes alleged to be SLPP supporters.

In another development, senior members of the party, he disclosed, last Monday, 27th August, 2018 held fruitful dialogue with the young and dynamic NRM executive for hours in which sensitive issues for the development of the party were discussed.
