APC Rejects COI Report

The National Youth League of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has rejected the report of the three Commissions of Inquiry presented to President Dr. Julius Maada Bio on Wednesday 25th March, 2020 at the Peace Museum at the former Special Court Building on Jomo Kenyatta Road, New England in Freetown.

In an exclusive interview with the APC National Youth League Secretary General, Alie Conteh, he opined that most of the findings and recommendations in the report were untrue and a calculated ploy to implicate most of the stalwarts in the party leadership. He furthered that the report is a politically motivated tool to intimidate the main opposition party. The youth scribe called for a proof of evidence that found their stalwarts culpable.

Several APC stalwarts are also vehemently opposed to the commissions’ report, saying it is meant to specially rope senior members of the APC without any tangible proof.

Alie Conteh said the APC hierarchy will be holding series of meetings before it will come out with a position statement on the report, adding that the party would also be awaiting the details of the White Paper on the report that would be released by cabinet in six months. He therefore called on APC members and supporters to stay calm until the White Paper is released by cabinet.
