APC Captures Kono

The All People’s Congress (APC) has reportedly captured the hearts and minds of the people of Kono following the recent constituency convention in that District.

It could be recalled that the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Diana Finda Konomanyi and the Deputy Publicity Secretary II of the APC party, Hon. Robin Faley stormed the district during the said election.

According to Hon. Faley, his visit to the district was part of his usual publicity and outreach programmes in taking the goodwill message of the government to the length and breadth of the country for the grassroots to be aware of the need to vote APC.

Kono, he said, is considered as a swing district and therefore requires efforts if the APC is to capture the minds of the people there after series of political tensions among various political parties and the emergence of coalitions and alliances ahead of the 2018 elections.

“With the Minister of Local Government and rural Development together with some party stalwarts, we have been able to put the district under the control of APC once again,” said the Deputy Publicity Secretary.

One APC veteran politician, Pa Abdulai Kai Borwai of Koidu explained that the partnership of Diana from Kono and Hon. Faley, fondly called APC Robinho, from Kailahun, was a good one which they dubbed: ‘game changers’ in the political landscape of the eastern part of the country and a blessing to the APC.

The partnership, he said, was a good blend because Diana targeted the female folks while Robinho targeted the male folks.
