The All People’s Congress party has in recent times faced with series of attacks from members of the public following the popular album of one of the leading local musical artists, Emerson Bockarie titled ‘I am a Survivor.’
In response to these attacks, the National Youth Secretary-General All People’s Congress (APC) Party, Alie Conteh has called for calm among members of the public, following series of verbal attacks against the government by some opposition opponents. He made this call to this press at his Old Railway Line offices.
According to Alie Conteh, the current attack on the government is meant to distract the good works of President Ernest Bai Koroma, from his current economic, social and infrastructural drive since 2007. The APC Youth Secretary General stated that the good work of the Ernest Koroma led government has left the opposition jiltery and worried and has now decided to use massive propaganda strategies in order to render the rulling government unpopular.
Alie Conteh continued that as politicians, some opposition members have failed to compliment the good works of the government, but are instead looking at just a few development projects that are being undertaken by it. As a way of sensitizing them, the APC Youth League Secretary General gave a brief catalogue of some of the development strides made by the current APC led government. Among them he stated is the salary increment for all public and private sector workers and also the monthly bag of rice given to all members of the security forces. He also spoke in the positive trend and improvement made in the energy and ICT sector revealing that they took over the energy sector with only five megawatts but can now boast of over 100 megawatts.
According to him, most of these opposition politicians are greedy and selfish individuals who only want to see just a small portion of the country improving. He further disclosed that as a government, they have encouraged freedom of speech which it should be commended for.
