APC Angry

The National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Cornelius Deveaux has reiterated that the party’s position on the Commissions of Inquiry still remains the same and that the commissions were not properly constituted by law.

The statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary comes following the recent publishing of list of former government officials indicted by the commission of inquiry.

The party, he further reiterated, had raised eyebrows on certain issues they picked up in the said list, adding that the mentioning of names of deceased persons to appear before the Commissions clearly indicates that the COIs are not up to the task.

The APC Publicity Secretary further cited the current Minister of Lands, Dr. Denis Sandy, who, he said, was Secretary to the Governance Transition Team (GTT) and whose name now appears in the list of those that are of interest to the commissions; an issue, he said, the party had early raised.

He reminded the President to have earlier stated that anyone in his cabinet that is of interest to the COI will be relieved of his or her duties within 24 hours. He however stated that the said minister is still sitting tight in his seat as Minister.
