ACC Battle Ready

Addressing media practitioners at the Commission’s Headquarters in Freetown past Thursday, 2nd August, 2018, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Commissioner, Mr. Francis Ben Kaifala Esq. disclosed that President Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio has given him freehand to fight corruption in the country.

His mandate at the ACC Commission, he said, is to, among other things, investigate past, present and future corruption matters, adding that whenever the commission is investigating an individual somebody, it looks not at the individual but he evidence before it. “The fight against corruption is a national fight,” he said, whilst encouraging everyone to submit evidence of corruption against the current government if they have. The Commission, he said, would investigate whatever corruption related matter brought before it. Though, he said the Commission is currently incapacitated, that notwithstanding,   he said, they would not relent in performing the Commission’s mandate.

The Commissioner further disclosed that cases are in the pipeline that are to be charged to court which he said include one that has to do with a military officer Jonathan Michael Genkins who allegedly arrested a vessel and converted the fuel to his own personal use; Emmanuel Tucker and Musa Solomon in Bo; Emmanuel Suliaman Musa in Kenema, former Master and Registrar of the Commercial Fast-Track Court, Lansana Korkor Kamara, among others.
