17 Sacked At NATCOM

In a wide ranging administrative purge, the Board of Directors of the Sierra Leone National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) has approved the sacking of 17 staff members. Their sack letters titled: ‘End of Employment with the National Telecommunications Commission’ dated 26th June, 2020 were signed by the Board Chairman, Madiana N. Samba. The affected employees are:

Francis Johnny

John Masuba

Magdalene Williams

Isatu Bah

Aminata Fofanah

Desmond Macfoy

Tamba Sessie

Fatmata Conteh

Bakarr (IT Dept)

John Power Kanu

The above are from headquarters

Bangalie Sesay & Abdul Kamara – Makeni office

Lakoh Sesay – Bo office

It could be recalled that 91 NATCOM staff members  were laid off by the previous leadership in what was called a reform process. Parliament intervened vainly to have the sacked workers reinstated.

In March 2019, the directors of Finance, Administration, Research and Public Affairs were also sacked. This was followed this year by the sacking of the Director General who was replaced by his Deputy, Daniel Bobson Kaitibie.
