14th January… Ernest, Others At CID

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma and the National Executive of the main opposition All People’s Party (APC) are expected to be guests at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to answer to an investigation surrounding conspiracy and sedition.

Speaking to The Exclusive, the National Secretary General of the APC, Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh disclosed that he has received a letter from CID summoning him and the National Executive of the party for an ongoing investigation of an alleged conspiracy and sedition.

“I received the letter off invitation by the CID on Sunday, 6th January, 2019 but I told them that we need some time to put bits and pieces together and that by Monday 14th January, 2019 we would make ourselves available at the CID,” said the APC scribe noting that it has been the usual case for people to be locked up whenever they visit the CID for questioning.

The APC heavy weight did not mince his words by stating that such invitation has the potential for security threat, adding that as heads of a major political party their supporters will come out to show and demonstrate solidarity to their leaders.

Conspiracy in legal term, he said intends to overthrow a government and sedition, he said, is saying/speaking bad things about the government. “So as a party we will make ourselves available at the CID to know we went wrong,” he said.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the Director of Crime Services, AIG Brima Jah proved futile as we went to press.
